![]() ![]() This island hopping exploration was useful in making you think ahead, rather than just charging through and skipping half the level as is possible in some of Spyro’s other offerings. ![]() Dividing the level up into separate airborne islands adds a nice twist to exploration too, especially with the purplish rocks adding to the summertime palette. Where Dream Weavers has the various Fools, Lofty Castle offers up strange puffer birds, demon cupids and gnorcs floating with balloons. Each level was supposed to be an extension of the realm itself, and Lofty Castle perfected the already fantastic Dream Weavers formula. The link between level and realm was tenuous, if it existed at all. In the second and third game, the realms were just hubworlds to explore before you ventured off to deserts, glaciers or underwater treasure troves.
